徒Acts 1:4-5
4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
(The Message)
Lessons Learn
These two verses tell us how the church was empowered to do that by the work of the Holy Spirit.
By doing so, the apostles were told to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit. We would gain more power and courage and peace if we learned to wait.
In our personal life, we need to learn to be still. Amid life’s surging activity, there must be time to receive.
“But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.” Isaiah 40:31, The Message.
